Presently I am:

• professor at the Department of Pure Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal;
• member of the Centro de Matemática da Universidade do Porto;
• member of the Automata: from Mathematics to Applications (AutoMathA) ESF programme.
• researcher of the FCT project Automata, Semigroups and Applications (ASA)

My research area is Finite Semigroup Theory. My mathematical interests include also Automata Theory, Group Theory and computational methods in these areas.
