Projects description:

"Hopf bifurcation in symmetric and interior-symmetric networks" Details at: http://bit.ly/projetoruicpaiva

The aim of this project is to study the stability of solutions given by Hopf bifurcation in coupled cell systems with interior symmetries and the solutions given by degenerate codimension-one Hopf Bifurcation in symmetric coupled cell systems.

We aim to study:

  • the linear stability of the periodic solutions provided by the Interior Symmetry-Breaking Hopf Theorem;
  • the existence of branches of periodic solutions in one-parameter coupled cell systems associated with abelian symmetric connected coupled cell networks.

External projects:

Scientific coordinator of the project MITO - "Interactive Modules of Online Training" at Instituto Politécnico de Leiria since 2010. This project combines a set of tools that we thought to be among the most developed and promising for teaching mathematics. Our main goal is to complement the face-to-face classes and the traditional teaching content through interactive and multimedia online content. The theoretical content is supported by multimedia and interactive books that include videos and Java applets, and the practical content consists of online quizzes associated with a computer algebra system with a high level of interactivity.
