About the Oporto Meetings
The XXIst Oporto Meeting on Geometry, Topology and
Physics will take place in Lisbon,
Portugal, from 4th to 7th February, 2015
(Wednesday to Saturday). The traditional aim of the
Oporto Meetings has been to bring together
mathematicians and physicists interested in the main
topic selected each year, and to provide them with a
pleasant and informal environment for scientific
interchange (see OM
for the web pages of previous meetings). The main topic
of our XXIst meeting (a slight departure from previous
editions) is:
Applications
of Topology
As in previous years, the meeting is focussed on the
short (typically 3-hour) minicourses given by the main
speakers, and will be supplemented by invited talks and
contributed talks by other participants. The talks are
at the advanced graduate or postdoctoral level, and
should be of interest to all researchers wishing to
learn about recent developments in the applications of
topology, including applications in robotics and
theoretical computing.
We are pleased to announce our four main speakers and
their mini-course titles (see Programme for further
details):
