Ana Paula Rocha's Annual Report 2014
Year:
2014
Brief description of the research activities:
Work was developed regarding the main research lines,
- Proceed with heart rate variability analysis: long-term/non stationary ARFIMAGARCH and linear/non-linear approaches.
- Monitoring and data analysis in intensive care. Case studies cardiovascular activity and cerebral reactivity.
- Long memory and heterocedasticity modelling of beat-to-beat RR series from pediatric patients with ARFIMA-GARCH approaches in early timing discrimination between survivals and non recovering patients. Partial results presented at CINC2014 and open communication at CardiotechniX 2014, 25-25 October 2014, Rome, Italy (AP Rocha, R Almeida, Arfima-Garch Modelling of HRV: Application to Critical Illness).
- Auxiliary Prognostic Indexes in Critical Illness, theme registration, PhD Program in Applied Mathematics UP, student Paulo Sousa, mentoring Rute Almeida and Ana Paula Rocha. Aiming to study and model ECG derived measures and other standard parameters used in the monitoring of critically ill patients, over different degrees of neurologic disruption; to identify and select variables to include in prognostic statistical models; assess the reproducibility and agreement of parameters and proposed indexes using statistical measures and evaluate the effectiveness / reliability of the developed indexes using real clinical data.
- Cerebral reactivity study . Publication in Journal of Neurotrauma, Post-Traumatic Multimodal Brain Monitoring: Response to Hypertonic Saline
- Signal Processing in Obstetrics. New wavelet based methodology for fetal QRS location over abdominal maternal recordings enhanced and validated on datasets provide by the Noninvasive Fetal ECG: the PhysioNet/Computing in Cardiology Challenge 2013 and other public available data. Published in a special isssue on Noninvasive Fetal ECG, of the journal Physiological Measurement”.
