Brief description of the research activities: 

Affine Cellular Algebras
Em reuniões semanais com Prof. Dr. Steffen König da Universität Stuttgart em conjunto com Prof. Paula Carvalho (Porto) e Dr. Armin Shalile (Stuttgart) investiguei a estrutura de ``affine cellular algebras”. Conseguimos caracterizar quando é que estas álgebras são Noetherianas ou semiprimas. Verificámos em detalhe os resultados teóricos obtidos em alguns álgebras affine Temperley-Lieb. O trabalho resultou numa publicação que foi aceite no "Journal of Algebra" e já está publicado online.
 
Idempotents in Ring Theory
Em reuniões com Prof. Dr. Jerzy Matczuk da University of Warsaw investiguei perguntas relativas às idempotentes em anéis não comutativos. Conseguimos resolver uma pergunta em aberta de Han et al. J. Korean Math. Soc 2014 que resultou num artigo "A note on semicentral Idempotents" que foi aceite no ``Communications in Algebra" e já está publicado online.

Non-commutative Geometry
With Prof. Tomasz Brezinski (Swansea University) I showed that, under some natural assumptions, the tensor product of differentially smooth algebras and the skew-polynomial rings over differentially smooth algebras are differentially smooth.

Module Theory
Consegui resonder duas perguntas de Lee and Rizvi (Journal of Algebra 2016) sobre certos módulos ("quasi Baer modules") e uma pequena nota encontra-se submetida à uma revista internacional.

Reports: 

I was an evaluator of the MATENG panel for the Horizion2020-MCSA-IF of the Research Executive Agency (REA/C/04) of the European Commission and involved in the evaluation of 9 individual Marie-Curie Fellowship applications.

Other information : 

Since I was on sabbatical leave during 2015/2016 I have been awarded grants during 2016 from the following organizations:

  • Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft "Schwerpunktprogramm Darstellungstheorie 1388" for my stay of one month in January at the University of Stuttgart
  • Warsaw Center of Mathematics and Computer Science for my 3 weeks stay at the University of Warsaw.
  • College of Science Research Fund of Swansea University for my 5 weeks stay at Swansea University
  • London Mathematical Society visitor grant (scheme 2) for my one week stay at the University of Glasgow and a short visit to the Queen Marry University in London.
