Jorge Rocha's Annual Report (2014)

Brief description of the research activities:
In joint work with Lorenzo Díaz (PUC-RJ) and Salete Esteves (IPB), we introduced a two-parameter family of skew products where one of the parameters models the central dynamics and the other one corrsponds to the unfolding of cycles. The first parameter also measures the “central distortion” of the systems. This family displays some of the main characteristic properties of the unfolding of heterodimensional cycles as intermingled homoclinic classes of different indices and secondary bifurcations via collision of hyperbolic homoclinic classes. The main tool is the use of iterated functions systems. (submitted for publication).
