The effective conductivity of 2D composite materials is determined in several cases via reduction of the governing equations to a mixed boundary value problems for holomorphic functions. One of the approaches is connected with an optimization problem on the solution set to the mixed boundary value problems. Another one deals with an application of the complex-analytic method to the tudy of composites with randomly situated inclusions.
